C3 - Closed Cavity Components

C3 is a patented production process for microwave components. C3 has the potential to create a small revolution within the telecom industry since C3 enables a cost cut with around 50% for production of filter housings for base stations in mobile telecom networks.

Polymer Kompositer owns a complete line for prototyping or small scale production with C3. For massproduction, Polymer Kompositer sells the production rights for C3 via license agreements.

Core-Cast machinery

Core-Cast machinery for production of C3 tin alloy cores.

The C3 process consists of the following main steps:

  • Casting of a fusible core.
  • A high performing polymer is moulded around the fusible core.
  • The component is placed in a hot melt out bath. The core melts and leaves a hollow component.
  • Chemical copper-plating of the component
  • Autocatalytic silver-plating of the component with ESM200 for excellent electrical properties
